Special Lecture by Architect Hirokazu Suemitsu
“Why I Became an Architect”

(Special Dialogue: Hirokazu Suemitsu × George Kunihiro)

Architect Hirokazu Suemitsu completed his graduate studies at the University of Tokyo, worked at Toyo Ito & Associates, and in 2007 co-founded the architectural unit “SUEP.” with Yoko Suemitsu.
They use advanced simulation technologies for wind and heat to design new, organic architecture where nature and buildings coexist.
Notable works include “Dwelling in the Earth,” winner of the 27th Yoshioka Award, and “House in Awaji Island,” which received the 2018 Good Design Gold Award. Their work proposes a rich lifestyle that is kind to both people and the environment.

In this lecture, Suemitsu will share why he chose this path and the source of his passion for pursuing architecture in harmony with the environment.
In Part 2, there will be a special dialogue with George Kunihiro.

It will deliver inspiring messages not only to those aiming to become architects but also to anyone ready to take a new step forward. We warmly invite you to join.
