He earned his Master’s at Waseda University, worked at the Mario Botta Studio, and founded NASCA in 1994. He served as Waseda Professor until 2025 and held key leadership roles in major architectural associations. Since 2025, he is Honorary Fellow and Professor Emeritus at Waseda.
