Architect

Born in Ehime Prefecture in 1976. After studying architecture at the University of Tokyo and working at Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects, he co-founded the architectural design office “SUEP.” with Yoko Suemitsu in 2007. He is currently based in Tokyo and Fukuoka.
His architectural practice is characterized by “environmental architecture,” which skillfully harnesses natural energies such as wind and heat.
Through the use of advanced simulation technologies, his designs are highly acclaimed for creating comfortable spaces while minimizing energy consumption.
Representative works include the “House in Awaji Island,” which pursues harmony with nature, and “Kyushu Geibunkan Annex 1,” an open cultural facility for the local community.
He has received numerous awards, including the Good Design Gold Award and the Yoshioka Award. As an Associate Professor at Kyushu University, he is also dedicated to fostering the next generation of architects.
